rehabstudio : ArtCade for iD Gum and Droga5

Kind of a Gallery, kind of an Arcade. In collaboration with Droga5 New York, rehabstudios launched ID Gum in the US with an amazing multi platform game platform: ArtCade.

On the back of packs of gum, kids would find 18 pieces of artwork from up and coming artists that can be scanned by iPhone, iPad, android or via the website. Scan the artwork to unlock it in your gallery, then flick the switch from Gallery to Arcade to unlock an awesome computer game.

rehabstudio concepted and produced a handful of games for the platform, and commissioned and managed a team of incredible illustrators from around the world to create the games.

This was a huge integrated project, publishing the platform and games to three separate platforms, utilising the Adobe Air, Facebook App store and the rehabstudio campaign platform.

Check out the iOS App here and the Facebook App here.

Uncorked Studios : Lego Movie Maker iOS App

Uncorked Studios worked closely with Pereira & O’Dell to build a stop-motion app to be used with LEGO Super Heroes figures. The LEGO Super Heroes Movie Maker app allows users to create their very own LEGO action films using the stop-motion animation technique and their iPhone or iPod touch.

LEGO Super Heroes already has quite the dedicated following so this app not only needed to be simple enough for kids, but also had to offer an experience that could entertain adult LEGO fans. The Uncorked team kept the UI simple and clean, but still jam-packed the app with lots of goodies for the more advanced users.

WLS : Sprint Slot Car

sprintslot1

WLS recently reunited with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to give their Sprint Slot Car Game a tune-up.

New features this time around included:

  • weekly track releases
  • social networking tie-in
  • improved physics engine
  • animation states for all the cars
  • vroooom (audio)

See it all in action for yourself, but be sure to buckle in – the site is stickier than a bug on a windshield, complete with your live mouse speed, internet buzz-o-meters, and a g-force simulator where you can roller coaster your face. And of course there’s the revamped and highly addictive slot car game, which at this point has hosted tens of millions of races.

“What we find amazing,” say the folks at WLS, “is that people were actually able to beat our scores. But hey, that’s what happens when thousands of people are playing on a daily basis.”

Honest : Fruit by the Foot Replacements

Aarra partner Honest has redefined sticky media, and gotten some on their fingers in the process.

Working with Publics Modem, Honest produced and directed a series of short films for Fruit by the Foot, featuring everything from wildlife to a full cheerleading uniform handcrafted out of the fruity snack (the latter complete with pompoms).

To house the campaign, Honest also designed a new website top-to-bottom, including a custom typeface. The interactive experience keeps visitors clicking with videos, games, and even a function to replace the entire Internet with Fruit by the Foot.

Honest’s award-winning studio eats unconventional content for breakfast (or an afterschool snack), but still, this had to be different.

rehabstudio : The Impossible Hoop Challenge

rehabstudio created the ‘Impossible Hoop Challenge’, a quirky and slightly surreal game challenging users to catapult a ball through an impossibly long scene in the shortest amount of throws.

The game consists of 3 levels: street, park and beach; each featuring a vast collection of interactive objects and targets. Users who can master the angle, power and spin of the shot get maximum points and can add them to their Spots or Stripe team’s score.

The targets vary from treasure chests to golf holes and users have to negotiate swordfish, wagging dogs, giant ants and an ice-cream van to win.

We also created an instant replay feature so users can send awesome shots to their friends on Facebook and Twitter.

Read how we made it here.

Lollipop : Sapporo Beer

sapporo

Lollipop worked with Dentsu to create a site to support the launch of the Legendary Biru campaign for Sapporo Beer.

The creative for the campaign tells the story of the brewing process, weaving Japan’s deep cultural heritage into the narrative.

The site itself is centered on a character – the Sage – who is the keeper of the legend of Sapporo. He leads visitors on a ‘treasure hunt’ through the site where the goal is to collect a number of hidden scrolls. Some are easy to find and tell a brief story about the beer, while others are well hidden and require diligence to unlock. Those who reach the end of the journey are given a message tailored to the number of scrolls they’ve discovered, while those who manage to collect all 15 scrolls are entered to win a trip to Japan.

Lollipop designed and built the site, in addition to shooting the Sage video. Sons & Daughters shot the live action, while Crush created the CG, mattes and final compositing.
